Today was Simon’s first day at GEMZ, a weekly charter class for gifted kids. They will meet for 2,5 hours every Tuesday and every time will be doing something different together. Today it was drawing parabola with straight lines, deciphering messages encrypted in Caesar rotation code and playing strategic games (Simon admitted he peeped into the solutions for the latter).
There are three boys besides him – a 10 and z’n 11 year olds who are both homeschooled and one almost 7 year old accelerated one grade. All of them into math!
